HalfelvenHobbitWelcome to Tiny Towns! This is a quick, easy cube drafting/placement game. Every turn we *draft* a cube from the available pool, and then we *place* it on any open space on our board to construct buildings and form our tiny town. Let's dive in!1maintitlebar_content

HalfelvenHobbitIn Tiny Towns, the goal is to place cubes on your mat and build buildings. At the end of the game, we score points based off of the buildings we have constructed and how we have them arranged. The game ends for each player once they have no available spaces on their board to place a cube. The game ending for one player *does not* conclude the game for everyone else. 2maintitlebar_content

HalfelvenHobbitFirst, each player is dealt two Monument cards to choose from, and chooses one to keep. These are special buildings that only that player is able to build. Let's go ahead and select "Archive of the Second Age" as our Monument for this game. 3tts-card1412

HalfelvenHobbitNow that we have selected our monument for this game, it is [red]here[/red] in our row of available buildings. Each building card has two parts: - The top shows the cubes and pattern to construct the building - The bottom shows point value and any requirements that building has to score points. We'll talk through some of the details of these buildings at the end of the tutorial. For now, we'll get to gameplay. 1maintitlebar_content

HalfelvenHobbitOur opponent is the first *Master Builder* this round. As Master Builder, our opponent chooses one of the five available resource types, then gives all players a single cube of that type. 1maintitlebar_content

HalfelvenHobbitScroll down to find our player board. Whenever we are given a cube, we must place it on an empty space on our board. There are no restrictions on which space we can choose. Let's go with [red]this[/red] space! Our monument looks like a really good tool to get lots of points, so we're going to try building that first!2page-title

As we place our cubes, we have the option of matching this pattern exactly, mirroring or rotating the pattern in any way we need to. As long as all the cubes are present in the correct arrangement, we can build the building! 2maintitlebar_content

HalfelvenHobbitNow we are the Master Builder! We're going to choose the Glass option. This is the second of the [red]4 cubes required[/red] for our Monument. Go ahead and click the Glass to make that choice.1tts-buttonRsc4

HalfelvenHobbitScroll down to our player board again. We are placing this cube underneath our Wheat to get closer to building the Monument. That covers cube placement, so let's move on.1gameaction_status_wrap

HalfelvenHobbitWhen our opponent chooses a resource, we have the option to place that resource cube into our [red]Cavern[/red] rather than placing it on our board. Placing a cube into the Cavern removes it from the game, and it is not scored. This is a good choice if your opponent chooses a cube that you can't beneficially place somewhere, but be careful! You may only use the cavern options *twice* per game.1tts-buttonCavern

HalfelvenHobbitAs you can see, over the past several rounds our opponent has built an Inn. We have placed two cubes at the top that we were not interested in using right away, but we'll make use of them soon! For this turn we're selecting our Monument. Now that we have the correct cube layout, we can build it. Next we will choose the space that we are building it on.1maintitlebar_content

HalfelvenHobbitScroll down to our player board. The Bottom-Right cube is where we will build our Monument. A Building may be constructed on *any* space where one of its cubes is located. Buildings and cubes cannot ever be moved once placed, and Buildings cannot ever be removed. Cubes are only removed when you construct a building with them.2maintitlebar_content

HalfelvenHobbitAnd there we go! We have successfully finished our first building. Let's watch a few more rounds to see what happens next.1maintitlebar_content

HalfelvenHobbitScroll down to the player board again. We placed a wheat [red]here[/red], which will complete our first *Inn*. You may notice that the cubes are in reverse order from what is visible on the Inn card. As discussed earlier, this is completely okay! Play continues this way until the game ends, once each player has no more vacant spaces on their board. At game end, each space with no building in it is worth -1 points. 1maintitlebar_content

HalfelvenHobbitAt this point, you understand the essentials of the game, so let's wrap up with a closer look at some of the buildings. *Cottages* are worth 0 points unless they are *fed*. To feed a building, you must have constructed an...1tts-card-slot1101

HalfelvenHobbit*Orchard*! The orchard feeds all cottages in the same row/column as that orchard. There is no limit on how many cottages each orchard may feed.2tts-card-slot1202

HalfelvenHobbitThe *Factory* allows you to select a resource cube. Whenever the *Master Builder* selects that cube, you may substitute it for any other cube of your choice and place that instead.3tts-card-slot1301-text

HalfelvenHobbitThe *Inn* is worth 3 points as long as it is the only *inn* in the row and column that it is located in.4tts-card-slot1502-text
