NekonyancerIn *Contract Bridge,* two teams will play cards in a series of mini-rounds called *tricks,* making this a *trick-taking* game. Before each round of tricks, players will *bid* on how many tricks they think their team can win. If they succeed, they score points! NekonyancerContract Bridge uses a standard 52-card deck. That means there are *4 suits* (♣️♦️♥️♠️) with *13 ranks* in each suit (2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-J-Q-K-A). BGA deals the entire deck at the beginning of each round, so each player gets a hand of 13 cards. You should be able to see [red]*our hand*[/red] at the bottom of your screen. Nekonyancer*Time to start the bidding phase!* On each player's turn, they can either *Bid* or *Pass.* If they bid, they must declare two things: *1. The number of tricks* in excess of 6 that they expect their team to win. *2. A suit.* If they win the bidding, this will become the Trump suit for the round. Cards of the Trump suit are much stronger!4maintitlebar_content

NekonyancerIn addition, when we placed a bid, it opened up a new option for them: *double.* It doesn't count as a bid itself, but it doubles how many points the other team can win or lose from their current bid. NekonyancerThere are quite a few categories, aren't there? I'll go through them one at a time, starting with *Vulnerable.* Vulnerability amplifies the number of points a team can gain or lose. In the first round, no one is vulnerable. After the first round, vulnerability will rotate.2player_name_92147957

NekonyancerThe next category is Contract points. For each trick won in excess of 6, the team scores... • *20* points if ♣️/♦️ is the Trump suit. • *30* points if ♥️/♠️ is the Trump suit. • *40* points for the first trick and *30* for subsequent tricks if there is no Trump suit. This only applies up to the number of tricks bid. In this case, ♠️ was the Trump suit, and we won 4 tricks in excess of 6, but we were limited by our bid of 2♠️. We scored *60* points (30 x 2). This was than quadrupled to *240* because the contract was *redoubled.*3player_name_92147957

NekonyancerNext is the *doubled/redoubled contract bonus.* When a declarer meets a doubled bid, they score an extra *50* points. When a declarer meets a redoubled bid, they score an extra *100* instead. In this case, we won a redoubled bid, so we scored 100 extra points.4player_name_92147957

Nekonyancer*Overtrick bonus* The Declarer's team scores points for each trick in excess of their bid. • *20* points per trick if ♣️/♦️ was the Trump suit. • *30* points per trick if ♥️/♠️ was the Trump suit, or if there was no Trump suit. • *100* per trick if the contract was doubled (*200* if vulnerable). • *200* per trick if the contract was redoubled (*400* if vulnerable). For each trick that the Declarer bid but failed to take, the Declarer's opponents will score... • 50 points in a standard contract (100 if Declarer is vulnerable). • 100/200/200/300 points for the 1st/2nd/3rd/4th+ trick in a doubled contract (200/300/300/300 if Declarer is vulnerable) • 200/400/400/600 points for the 1st/2nd/3rd/4th+ trick in a redoubled contract (400/600/600/600 if vulnerable). Nekonyancer[blue]Were the rules slightly different than the ones you grew up with?[/blue] If so, I suggest perusing through the Lobby Options. This tutorial uses the standard *"Chicago"* ruleset, but you can change it to *"Rubber Bridge."* In this ruleset, the number of hands is not fixed. Instead, teams will end games by reaching 100 points with only contract points. After one team has ended two games, all bonus points that players accumulated during the games are added to their scores.12player_name_92147957
