It's also very easy. Each turn there are only 3 available actions to choose from: *Explore*, *Request Support* or *Recruit a Lord*.

ArmagedoomYour oponent chooses to *explore*. The player who explores reveals an *ally card from the exploration deck*. Then, *all other players* (in this case you are "all the other players"), one by one, may decide to *take the revealed card by paying 1 pearl* or pass.
Revealed ally is a *5 seahorse* (a good ally card) so we'll to keep it.

Every *grey circle* indicates the *number of other races* that must be used to recruit the Lord.

Armagedoom*Pearls* can also be used to recruit, *increasing the total value*.
For example, [blue]The Tamer[/blue] Lord needs a total value of 6, using 3 different races (not 2, not 4) & one of that races must be a crab.
