Nekonyancer[img]https://x.boardgamearena.net/data/tutorials/img6785ed2f04ccd0.66275852.jpg[/img] Quibbles are vibrant oddlings, born from creative whimsy, that multiply in baffling bursts! [green][tip] This tutorial is best viewed on a computer![/green]1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment000
NekonyancerIn *Quibbles,* players will take turns trying to multiply the cards in their hand by exchanging them with cards on the table. Once they have enough cards, they can be placed in the players' collections for points! [green]The first player to reach 21 points wins the game![/green]2archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment000
Nekonyancer[blue]A turn consists of the following steps:[/blue] First, you must perform one of two actions: *TAKE* or *PASS.* After that, you may perform an optional collection action. Finally, BGA will add cards to the display, if necessary.3archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment000
Nekonyancer[red]Let's get started![/red] When you use the *TAKE* action, you must choose 1-6 cards in your hand to *discard.* As you can see, we started the game with [red]*6 cards in our hand.*[/red]4quibbles-card-130-front000player-hand 1
NekonyancerIf you discard multiple cards, you may take any number of cards from the display that each equal the sum of the cards you discarded. [blue]For example, if you discard 2/2/2, you can take any number of "6" cards from the display.[/blue]5card-display000
Nekonyancer[red]Let's try it![/red] *Click on "TAKE" at the top!*6playerTurnTake010
NekonyancerNext, *select the three "1" cards in our hand.* [green]All the "3" cards in the display should be lit up![/green] *Click on "Confirm Discard" at the top.* It probably didn't work. Don't worry, it will work in a real game. *Click on "Continue" instead.*1quibbles-ui-row-364f6b36a2926b00
NekonyancerNow we can take as many "3" cards as we like from the display! *Take them all! Then click on "Confirm Take" at the top!* ... then click on *"Continue"* instead.1quibbles-card-79-front64f6b3711a59e00
NekonyancerOkay, that's it for our *TAKE* action. Next, we have the option of [red]adding a card to our collection.[/red] To do so, we must have at least as many copies of a card as the number on that card. [blue]In other words, you need two 2s to add a 2. Four 4s to add a 4. And so on![/blue]1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment64f6b378e75e000
Nekonyancer[green]It looks like we have more than enough 3s![/green] But not all of them will go into our collection - only one card will be added. The rest will be discarded. [red]Let's do it![/red] *Click on "Add 3" at the top!*2quibbles-card-7-front64f6b378e75e010
Nekonyancer[blue]Great! There's a 3 in our collection now![/blue] Cards in our collection are worth points equal to their number.1quibbles-card-7-front64f6b37b9189e00
NekonyancerBy the way, [red]our collection can only hold up to *6* cards,[/red] and we need to get *21* points to win! If you stock up on "1" value cards, you'll never get there! If you add a card when your collection is already full, you can choose a card to discard.2quibbles-card-7-front64f6b37b9189e00
NekonyancerAnyway, that's it for our collection action. Our turn ended, and BGA automatically *added* cards to the display until there were exactly *6.* Now it's our opponent's turn!3quibbles-card-100-front64f6b37b9189e00
NekonyancerOkay, time for our next turn. *Take another TAKE action!*1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment64f6b3a08f17310playerTurnTake 16
NekonyancerI told you what happens when you discard *multiple* cards - you take single cards that equal the total. This time, let's discard just *one* card. It will have the opposite effect - [blue]we'll take groups of cards that each equal our single discarded card![/blue]1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment64f6b3ba7d87700
Nekonyancer*1.* Select our "6" card. *2.* Click on "Confirm Discard" at the top. *3.* Confirm again!2quibbles-card-45-front64f6b3ba7d87710
Nekonyancer[green]Great! Now we can take sets that each equal 6.[/green] *1.* Take the "2" and the "4" on the left. (If you take the one on the right, BGA will complain.) *2.* Click on "Confirm Take" at the top. *3.* Confirm again!1quibbles-card-84-front64f6b3bdd550610
Nekonyancer[blue]Next, I'll show you the *PASS* action.[/blue] When you - *whoa,* wait a second. There are *four 6s* in the display!! That's a huge opportunity! If we use TAKE, we can discard 4 and 2 and pick up four 6s! [green]... buuuut we're here to learn the game, not win the game.[/green] *Click on "PASS" at the top!*1quibbles-card-36-front64f6b3d778dd310
NekonyancerWhen you *PASS,* you add one card to the display from your hand. Afterward, you draw two random cards from the deck. [red]Let's do it![/red] *Discard the 4 on the left!* Or try, at least. Then click on *Continue* instead.1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment64f6b3de3ea4d00
Nekonyancer[blue]We drew another 4 and a 3. That's it for our PASS action.[/blue] You've seen all the various actions now! There's just a couple more things I need to mention: *1.* If there are 10 in the display at the end of your turn, BGA will wipe them all and deal 6 new cards. *2.* If there are no cards in your hand at the end of your turn, all players must discard their hands and draw 6 new cards.1quibbles-card-18-front64f6b3f31a95400
NekonyancerOkay, that's it! [green]The game will continue as you've seen until someone reaches 21 points in their collection, winning the game![/green]2archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment64f6b3f31a95400
Nekonyancer[blue]*Thank you for playing through this tutorial for Quibbles!*[/blue] If you have any questions or comments about the tutorial, feel free to send *Nekonyancer* a message! A big thank you goes out to *jordijansen* for bringing this game to BGA! Have fun! :D3archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment64f6b3f31a95400
