DogEgg258Welcome to *HUND*, a 2-5 player trick-taking game. The smartest dogs in the world are getting together for game night! You must keep an eye on which dogs will play which roles and make the best choice. The game lasts for 5 rounds. The player with the highest score wins the game. 1topbar_content000
DogEgg258In each round, starting from the lead player, each player *takes turns to play exactly 1 card* from their hand. You *must follow* the suit color *of the first played* in that trick if possible. After all players play one, the player who plays the strongest card wins the trick and captures all cards in the trick. 2topbar_content000
DogEgg258Oh! The game has started. *MrsGuru* played a Yellow 4. It's now our turn. Let's see... We have got some yellow cards in our hands so we must follow the suit. *Let's play a Yellow 1 from our hand. *1topbar_content65fb95581dfa210myhand_item_28 16
DogEgg258In the last trick, all colors are the same as the first trick while *MrsGuru* played the highest value. So *MrsGuru* wins the trick and captures 3 yellows. [tip] The rule is simple: - After all players play a card, if there are trump suit card(s), [blue]the *highest value of trump suit card wins*[/blue] the trick. - If there is no trump suit card, [blue]the *highest value of the suit color as the first played* in the trick wins[/blue]. Now *MrsGuru* must play a card. 1topbar_content65fb9569bc1ef00
DogEgg258*MrsGuru* played a Gray 3. You might have already noticed. There is a [red]*Designation card*[/red] on the top of the screen. It shows the number of rounds and the *Designation card* for the round. In this round, the designation number is 3. *Whenever a card matching the designation number is played, an [green]effect[/green] immediately assigns to the suit of the card. *1designation_board65fb957a4fa8400designation_board 1 tile_tooltip_space_trump 3
DogEgg258Effect in order of the tile shows on the right: 1. *Trump suit*: This suit is the strongest suit in the round. 2. *Plus suit*: Each card of this suit scores 1 at the end of the round. 3. *Hund suit*: The player(s) with neither the fewest nor the most cards of this suit scores 3 points at the end of this round. 4. *Minus suit*: Each card of this suit scores -1 at the end of the round. 5. *Lead suit*: The player with the most card of this suit selects the first player of the next round after looking at their card. 2topbar_content65fb957a4fa8400tile_tooltip_space_trump 6 tile_tooltip_space_plus 6 tile_tooltip_space_hund 6 tile_tooltip_space_minus 6 tile_tooltip_space_lead_select 6
DogEgg258*Rhodedog35* played a Blue 1 after *MrsGuru* played the gray card. This means that *Rhodedog35* does not have any gray card. As we have gray cards in our hands, we must play one of them. *Let's play a Gray 5*!1topbar_content65fb9597577b410myhand_item_22 16
DogEgg258We won the trick and captured those cards. The cards we [blue]captured[/blue] are shown at the bottom of [red]our hand[/red]. We must now start a new trick by playing a card. *Let's play the Purple 1. *1topbar_content65fb959d32cb910myhand_item_9 16 myhand 1 captured 2
DogEgg258 *Rhodedog35* played a Pink 3. So pink is assigned with the 2nd effect: *plus suit*. It's still us to play a card. For the cards in our captured, there are 2 trump suit cards (no score), 3 plus suit cards (3 scores), and a blue card without assign. We don't want blue assigned to minus later on. *So let's play the Blue 3. *1topbar_content65fb95c9c58bb10myhand_item_12 16
DogEgg258When the fourth matching card is played, both the fourth and fifth effects are assigned since the final one is no doubt. 1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment65fb95fa9bdfd00
DogEgg258Let's see how it scores. ( [tip] If you close the summary board accidentally, scroll down to see the image.) We score 4 plus score and 2 minus score. For the *Hund Score*, we captured 2 hund suit cards while *Rhodedog35* and *MrsGuru* captured 4 and 0. We are neither the most nor the least. So that we score 3 points. *MrsGuru* has the most lead suit (purple cards) so *MrsGuru* is the lead chooser of the next round. [img]https://x.boardgamearena.net/data/tutorials/https___snipboard.io_RE6X0w.jpg[/img]1topbar_content65fb9637558bb00
DogEgg258In the 2-player game, there will be a virtual player. Set up like a 3-player game. The virtual player displays 5 card piles at the start of the round. The topmost card of the pile is revealed. Once the reveal card is played, reveal the bottom one (if one). On the virtual player's turn, they will play the leftmost legal card. Example: [img]https://x.boardgamearena.net/data/tutorials/https___snipboard.io_D1lTte.jpg[/img]2topbar_content65fb9637558bb00
DogEgg258Here's some table configuration: *Use more cards* When this option is enabled, use 9/9/12/15 cards of each suit in 2/3/4/5-player mode instead (default 6/6/8/10). *Select designation cards* When disabled (default), use 5 designation cards numbered from 1 to 5. When enabled, use all designation cards corresponding to the card values used in the game. Starting from the second turn player, all players select a suit and a designation card in turn order until 5 sets are chosen. When the exact matching card is played, the suit will be assigned. 3topbar_content65fb9637558bb00
