TheBoardBaker*Welcome to Gang of Dice!* The boss is about to retire. As one of his lieutenants, you need to take over the reins of the family. But you’re not alone in this race... Gather as many minions as possible to show that you are a true leader, and try to have the minions of the other lieutenants join your cause. *This tutorial is best viewed on a computer*1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment63921ab630fe500
TheBoardBakerOver the course of 12 rounds you try to win as many minions (or dice) to your gang as possible. You gain minions by winning the round. Then you get to keep your dice and your opponent's played dice. The person with the biggest gang (most dice) at the end of the game wins!2archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment63921ab630fe500
TheBoardBakerEvery round, each player selects a number of dice to roll and attempt to score higher than their opponents, while avoiding a special condition. You have up to 2 rerolls per turn, unless you violate the terms set by the card type and/or the round requirement.3archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment63921ab630fe500
TheBoardBakerEvery card has either an "Explosive" or a "Bomb." *Explosive Cards* The combinations on the Explosive cards can be triggered after each individual roll. If your roll triggers the revealed Explosive card, your result becomes immediately invalid. 4archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment63921ab630fe500
TheBoardBaker*Bomb cards* They can be triggered only at the end of the 2nd step and irrespective if they occurred earlier. When you finish your second reroll, if your result triggers the revealed Bomb card, your result becomes invalid. *Rephrase:* you have up to 2 reroll to get it right.5archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment63921ab630fe500
TheBoardBakerOur opponent is going to go first here. This is an *Explosive* card. If at any point you fit the criteria, the card explodes and your roll is invalid. If you hover over the card, it will further explain what the round criteria is. For this card: "The roll is invalid if it contains 3 or more odd values" Let's see what he rolls and we can explain more. 6archiveCommentElementPointerTargetInner63921ab630fe500god_card_10 16
TheBoardBakerSince our opponent finished with only 1 odd die, the roll is valid. Now we will look at the point value next our opponent's name. 1+2+4 = *7* For future reference, the Face die has a value of 0.1god_zone_9167138863921ac4ef90000god_zone_91671388 1
TheBoardBakerOur opponent rerolled for a higher score, a risky move, but it paid off! While 5s are odd, our opponent still has less than 3 odd dice. They now have a score of 14, which they are going to keep. 1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment63921acb88bfb00
TheBoardBakerNow our turn! We need to beat their 14 if we want to win this round. Let's try with 4 dice! Click the "*Add*" button 4x then "*Roll*"1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment63921ad4f2dc310button_add 20 button_roll 16
TheBoardBakerUgh! We got 3 odd dice! (3,1,0,1) So our roll was immediately invalid. Since we lost the round, our opponent gets to keep their 3 dice and wins our 4 dice.1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment63921af14357a00
TheBoardBakerSo here is an important detail, you *are not* required to roll any certain number of dice per round. So here the requirement is 3 non-equal dice. By rolling only one die our opponent is guaranteed to not receive an invalid roll. 1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment63921b0d80f2500
TheBoardBakerOur opponent decided to keep their 4. So we decided to roll two dice to try and beat their score. We got a 5, let's keep it! Since we chose only 2 dice we were also guaranteed not to get an invalid roll, we just needed 5 or more. Since we want to stop our turn here, we need to hit the *End Turn* button. We are going to skip a round here to show you the other card type and then we can get playing!2archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment63921b6a78f5600
TheBoardBakerWe skipped ahead to our turn here. This card, unlike the last few, is a *BOMB* card. We get up to 2 rerolls to meet the round criteria. We don't need to worry about it exploding right away on us. Since our opponent's roll is invalid, we only need to roll 1 die to beat them. Click *Add* (for 1 die) and then *Roll*.1god_card_263921bd7d19f210button_add 17 button_roll 18
TheBoardBakerFinally a chance to show you a reroll! Since we rolled a 3, if we kept it, our roll would be invalid, so let's reroll it and try again. *Click on the 3 die* and then *Reroll*.2archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment63921bfdbf45210button_reroll 18 god-dice-18 1
TheBoardBakerAnother odd! Reroll again. Click the *5 die* and *Reroll*.1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment63921c09e8bc510
TheBoardBakerHard to get a comment in there, but since our roll was still odd at the end our turn, it was also invalid. *IF* both players turns are invalid, like it was here, then the dice are pooled and the winner of the next round receives all the dice.1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment63921c1010f2200god_extra_dice 1
TheBoardBakerAnd that's pretty much the game! Read the round criteria *carefully*! Miss-reading can cost you the round. Thank you for joining this tutorial and go win those minions!2archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment63921c1010f2200
