DogEgg258Welcome to *Five Three Five*, a climbing/shedding game for 2 to 6 players. The game's deck is comprised of cards numbered 1-15, with cards of rank 6 and 10 missing. Your goal is to *be the first to get rid of all your cards*. As soon as any player runs out of cards, all other players gain points from cards. When any player reaches 20, the game ends and the *player with the fewest points wins!*1topbar_content000
DogEgg258On your turn, you must [blue]*Overwrite*[/blue], [blue]*Add card(s)*[/blue] or [red]*Pass*[/red]. If you choose to [blue]*play* (overwrite/add)[/blue], you must play 1-3 cards and keep the central end up a *legal meld*: - Single card - Set (the same rank) - Run (consecutive rank)1maintitlebar_content66122f555633600
DogEgg258[blue]*DogEgg258*[/blue] played a run of 13-14-15. Let's *Add cards* to it. Add *11 and 12*. [tip] [blue]*Add*[/blue]: You must add 1-3 cards to the central meld. After adding, the central meld must still be *legal*. 2maintitlebar_content66122f555633610btnAddCard 18 myhand_item_20 16 myhand_item_23 16
DogEgg258When the Central meld has 5 cards in a run or all cards of the same number, the trick end immediately. The last player to play a card will *lead* the next trick. 1played_card_container66122f599c0c300
DogEgg258It's us to lead the trick. We must play cards from our hand. Let's play *2-3-4*. [tip] [blue]*Lead*[/blue]: You must play 1-3 cards that are legal (single/run/set). 2maintitlebar_content66122f599d5c510btnPlayCard 18 myhand_item_6 16 myhand_item_8 16 myhand_item_11 16
DogEgg258[blue]*DogEgg258*[/blue] added 1 and 5. When adding cards, you just need to keep the central meld ends legal. The cards you play do not need to be consecutive or the same. 1played_card_container66122f6e3841000
DogEgg258[blue]*DogEgg258*[/blue] played a run in 2 cards: 7-8. Let's [blue]*Overwrite*[/blue] the meld, *play 4-5*. [tip] [blue]*Overwrite*[/blue]: You must play 1-3 cards that are of the *same meld type*, *equal size* (card number), and *greater strength* than the Central meld. [tip] For *Run*, lower rank are stronger than higher rank. This is different from *Single* and *Set*. 1maintitlebar_content66122f8c3f00710btnOverwriteMeld 18 myhand_item_21 16 myhand_item_38 16
DogEgg258[blue]*DogEgg258*[/blue] chose to pass. When all but one player passes, the trick ends and the last player to play a card will lead the next trick. It's still us to lead. *Let's play a single 7*. 1maintitlebar_content66122f9bb175710btnPlayCard 18 myhand_item_37 16
DogEgg258[blue]*DogEgg258*[/blue] played an 8. [tip] *Rule of 8's*: When one or more 8's are used to *Overwrite* or *Add*, the trick ends immediately like every other player passes. 1played_card_container66122fa77adcc00
DogEgg258A round *ends immediately when any player runs out of cards*. Everyone else loses points equal to the *total point value of their cards* remaining in their hand. Points are located under the wether symbol of the card. [img]https://x.boardgamearena.net/data/tutorials/https___snipboard.io_MgFp7L.jpg[/img] You can also find this in the card tooltips. Once any player reaches *-20*, the game ends and the player with the *fewest points wins* the game. 1maintitlebar_content66122fb56f6b500
DogEgg258In a 2-player game, a round is split into two halves. The cards are dealt 4 separate hands of 12 cards, in which the first half uses 2 hands and the second half uses the other 2 hands without shuffling. 2two_second_half66122fb56f6b500two_second_half 3
DogEgg258Let's have a fast review of the rule. If you lead, you must play a legal meld. If there are cards in the central, you must [blue]*Overwrite*[/blue], [blue]*Add cards*[/blue] or [red]*Pass*[/red]. To *overwrite*, you must play a stronger meld in the same type and size as the central meld. To *add cards*, you must keep the central meld legal. *8s* in *overwrite* and *add cards* action will end the trick immediately. Whenever a trick ends, the last player to play a card will lead the next trick. [tip] You can always check the rules by *[Player Aid]*. 3maintitlebar_content66122fb56f6b500btnPlayerAid 16
DogEgg258Room Options: *Game Length*: When a player reaches -20 / -10 points, the game ends. For a 2-player game length, you may choose 1 round as well. *Extra deal in 3-player*: Deal 16 cards per player instead of 12 cards. *Greater size overwriting*: allow meld with greater size overwrite and ignore their meld type. *Permanent Pass*: Once a player passes, the player cannot play any more cards during the same trick. 4topbar_content66122fb56f6b500
DogEgg258That's all for the tutorial. *If this tutorial is helpful to you, please give me a 5-star rating. Your rating is very important to me!* Feel free to send me any comments. :) Have a nice day!!5archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment66122fb56f6b500
