Nekonyancer[img]https://x.boardgamearena.net/data/tutorials/img6785ece3ef4149.61242670.jpg[/img] You and your friends - now rivals - are trapped in a haunted house! You must collect all the cursed objects you need to escape the house while remaining as curse-free as possible! [green][tip] This tutorial is best viewed on a computer![/green]1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment000
NekonyancerIn *Don't Go In There,* players try to create *sets* of [red]*cursed objects*[/red] by putting meeples into three different rooms. Creating sets will *"Dispel"* the objects, alleviating their curse values and possibly granting other positive effects. [green]When all the cards are taken, whoever has the lowest curse value is the winner![/green] Scroll down for the next textbox.2archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment000dgit_card_35 6 dgit_card_4 6 dgit_card_8 6 dgit_card_16 6 dgit_card_31 6 dgit_card_29 6 dgit_card_1 6 dgit_card_36 6 dgit_card_39 6
NekonyancerAll you have to do on your turn is put a meeple into a room. Simple, right? *Click here to place a meeple in the basement!*3dgit_room_3_space_highlight_4010dgit_room_3_space_highlight_4 16
Nekonyancer*Good!* This space we placed in has *three flashlights* next to it. They will help us avoid ghosts! [green]More on ghosts soon![/green] Now it's our opponent's turn...1dgit_room_3_space_highlight_463a949678732400
NekonyancerOur turn again. *Let's place one here.*1dgit_room_3_space_highlight_263a94974874df10dgit_room_3_space_highlight_2 16
NekonyancerThe Basement now has *three* meeples in it, which means it must be *resolved.* The first step in resolving the room is *rolling dice.* Each [red]*cursed object*[/red] in the room has a number of dice in the top right corner.1dgit_card_3663a949787509b00dgit_card_1 1 dgit_card_36 1 dgit_card_39 1
Nekonyancer[red]*This card*[/red] has 2 dice, [blue]*this card*[/blue] has 1, and [green]*this card*[/green] has two, so we rolled a total of *5* dice.2dgit_card_3663a949787509b00dgit_card_1 1 dgit_card_36 2 dgit_card_39 3
NekonyancerHere's where the dice were rolled! Each die has nothing on 3 sides and a ghost on 3 sides. [red]Looks like we rolled 3 ghosts![/red]3dgit_dice_tray63a949787509b00dgit_die_1_face 6 dgit_die_2_face 6 dgit_die_4_face 6
NekonyancerThe basement has a *special ability* though! Whoever resolves the room - that is, whoever places the third meeple there - can *reroll* all the dice once! Let's do it! *Click on Roll!*4dgit_dice_tray63a949787509b10dgit_roll_dice_button 16
Nekonyancer[red]Ouch.[/red] We rolled three ghosts again. Scroll back down to the basement for the next box.1dgit_die_2_face63a949a824a3600
NekonyancerThe ghosts we rolled were inflicted upon each player for each meeple they have in the room. However, the meeples were able to fight off some of them with the *flashlights* on their spaces! [red]*This meeple*[/red] had *1* flashlight, which negated 1 ghost. 3 - 1 is 2, so *we took two ghosts!*2dgit_room_363a949a824a3600dgit_room_3_space_highlight_2 6
Nekonyancer[blue]*Our opponent's meeple*[/blue] has 2 flashlights, so they took 1 ghost. [red]*Our second meeple*[/red] has 3 flashlights, so we took 0 ghosts from him.3dgit_room_363a949a824a3600dgit_room_3_space_highlight_3 7 dgit_room_3_space_highlight_4 6
NekonyancerYou can see [blue]*your total ghosts*[/blue] up here, in your player information box. Note that you cannot see [red]*your opponent's ghosts!*[/red] !!! At the end of the game, the player with the *most ghosts* will get 1 curse for every 2 ghosts they have! All other players will get no curses!4dgit_player_11941354_ghost_count63a949a824a3600dgit_player_92143487_ghost_count 7 dgit_player_11941354_ghost_count 6
NekonyancerNow that everyone has taken their ghosts, it's time to claim the *cursed objects!* Each meeple's owner can choose one, starting with [red]the meeple who ventured *deepest* into the room![/red]5dgit_room_3_space_highlight_263a949a824a3600dgit_room_3_space_highlight_2 6
NekonyancerThe number in the top-left corner of each card is its *curse value.* [red]*This twin*[/red] has a curse value of only 1! *Click on it to take it!*6dgit_card_163a949a824a3610dgit_card_1 6
Nekonyancer*Good!* The card went into our inventory. We took back our meeple too. Our opponent's meeple is up next, so they get to claim a card now...1dgit_card_163a949b070c2000dgit_card_1 6
NekonyancerAnd now we have to use our second meeple. We don't have a choice... *Click on this card to take it!*1dgit_room_3_space_highlight_463a949b88835710dgit_card_36 16
Nekonyancer*Great!* After the last object was claimed, the entire room was replaced with a new one, along with three new objects.1dgit_room_363a949bcd59fa00
Nekonyancer*Now look at your inventory.* Each twin says "Dispel 2 identical twins." I thought that they'd dispel each other once we had both in our inventory... *OH! They're not identical!* They need the same curse value and picture to be identical! Oops.2dgit_card_3663a949bcd59fa00
NekonyancerWell, no problem. There's an identical twin in The Nursery! *Place a meeple here!*1dgit_room_1_space_highlight_363a94a120e66f10dgit_room_1_space_highlight_3 16
NekonyancerOur opponent placed the Nursery's third meeple, so we have to *resolve* it! This time, because of the objects in the room, only four dice were rolled, resulting in [red]two ghosts![/red]1dgit_dice_tray63a94a20457db00dgit_die_1_face 6 dgit_die_2_face 6
NekonyancerLuckily, [red]our meeple here[/red] has two flashlights, so we don't get any ghosts!2dgit_room_1_space_highlight_363a94a20457db00dgit_room_1_space_highlight_3 6
NekonyancerOur turn to take a card. *Claim the twin, then quickly scroll down to your inventory to watch what happens!*1dgit_card_463a94a2706a3910dgit_card_4 16
NekonyancerThe two identical twins were automatically *dispelled,* alleviating their curse values! As you can see, [blue]*our total curse value*[/blue] is now *1.*1dgit_player_92143487_dispeled_cards63a94a2ab4e3400dgit_player_92143487_curse_tracker 7 dgit_player_92143487_curse_count 7
Nekonyancer*Okay, that's it!* The game will continue as you've seen until [blue]*all the cursed objects in this deck*[/blue] have been claimed. [green][tip] The number of objects will vary with the number of players![/green]1dgit_deck63a94a376df0200dgit_deck 7
NekonyancerAt that point, everyone's *ghosts* will be assessed. Whoever has the most ghosts will gain 1 curse for every two ghosts! [green]Then, whoever has the lowest curse value wins![/green]2archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment63a94a376df0200
Nekonyancer[blue]*Thank you for playing through this tutorial for Don't Go In There!*[/blue] If you have any questions or comments about the tutorial, feel free to send *Nekonyancer* a message! A big thank you goes out to *JohnMothra* and *jordijansen* for bringing this game to BGA! Have fun! :D3archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment63a94a376df0200
