Nekonyancer[img]https://x.boardgamearena.net/data/tutorials/img6785ed4b06b836.49083334.jpg[/img] Reveal tokens, eliminate the objectives that you deem too difficult, and complete the other objectives to achieve victory! [green][tip] This tutorial is best viewed on a computer![/green]1maintitlebar_content000
NekonyancerIn each round of Bag of Chips, each player is dealt [red]*6 objective cards.*[/red] There are [blue]*4 phases*[/blue] in each round. In each phase, several chips will be drawn from a bag, and each player must discard some of their objectives. At the end of the round, players will be left with 3 objectives, which will score points based on the chips that were drawn from the bag.2maintitlebar_content000slot1 2 slot2 2 slot3 2 slot4 2 slot5 2 player-table-11941354-hand 1
NekonyancerThere are three different *skins* for this game. For this tutorial to make sense, you'll have to use the English skin. *Scroll down until you find them. Then click on [blue]this one.[/blue]*3maintitlebar_content000set-skin-us 7
NekonyancerThere are *five* different chip flavors in the bag. This card shows how many there are of each flavor. If you can't see the card, *click on this button:* [img]https://x.boardgamearena.net/data/tutorials/img6785ed4b215df3.55343444.jpg[/img]4bga-help_buttons000
NekonyancerAs you can see, there's a different mini-board for each of the four phases in a round. At the top of each board, it shows how many chips will be drawn. [green]5 chips are always drawn for Phase 1. BGA already went ahead and drew those for us.[/green]5slot1000slot1 3
NekonyancerAt the bottom of each board, it shows what each player should do with their *Objective Cards.* [green]Everyone must discard 2 of them in Phase 1.[/green]6slot1000
NekonyancerEach Objective Card has a *condition* and a *point value.* For example, this one is worth *70* points, but only if the number of purple chips on the table equals the number of green chips. [img]https://x.boardgamearena.net/data/tutorials/img6785ed4b427ff3.93175511.jpg[/img] [green]Again, this will only make sense if you have the leftmost skin selected.[/green]7card-20-front000
NekonyancerWe have to discard two objectives right now, but which ones? [blue]Based on the 5 chips that were drawn so far, which objectives do you think are unlikely to be complete when all 14 chips are on the table?[/blue]8card-20-front000
NekonyancerI think the "4 purples" and "5 reds" objectives are unlikely. Let's discard them. *1.* Select the "4 purples" objective. *2.* Select the "5 reds" objective. *3.* Click on "Discard 2 selected cards" at the top! [red](The order is important because BGA is picky. If it doesn't work, deselect them and try again.)[/red]9card-30-front010
Nekonyancer*Great!* Once everyone has discarded their two cards, BGA will move on to [blue]*Phase 2.*[/blue]1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment6550a25bdb36700slot2 2
Nekonyancer[green]Hmm, two greens, a red, and a purple were drawn.[/green] I think we made the right call discarding the red and purple objectives. Next, we have to discard one more.1slot26550a28f33bb400
NekonyancerThe objective on the far left is worth *5* points per yellow chip on the table. *9* out of the *14* chips have been drawn, and there are only 2 yellows so far. Oof. *Discard it!*2card-35-front6550a28f33bb410
NekonyancerWe've moved on to *Phase 3.* Three more chips were drawn. This phase is a little different - instead of discarding objectives, we must place two of them on the *right side* of [green]*this card*[/green] and one on the *left.*1card-35-back6550a2bed77ab00card-35 8
NekonyancerAt the end of the round, the objectives on the right side will score [green]positive points[/green] (if complete). The one on the left will score [red]negative points[/red] (if complete)!2card-35-back6550a2bed77ab00
Nekonyancer[blue]Hmm... which objective is the least likely to be completed?[/blue] Well, the *middle* one is already complete. We should put that one on the right for sure.3card-12-front6550a2bed77ab00
NekonyancerThere are currently two greens and two purples on the table, so the objective on the right will be complete *unless* one of the last two chips is green or purple.4card-20-front6550a2bed77ab00
NekonyancerThere are currently three oranges and two purples on the board, so the one on the left will be incomplete *unless* one of the last two chips is purple and the other one is not orange.5card-21-front6550a2bed77ab00
NekonyancerRemember, there are a total of 4 purple chips in the game, and 2 have already been drawn. Let's bet on the last chips NOT being purple. *Select the left objective (orange = purple). Then click on [blue]"Set selected card on [-] side"[/blue] at the top!*6card-21-front6550a2bed77ab10
Nekonyancer[green]Time for Phase 4![/green] At the top of Phase 4's mini-board, one of the two chips is [green]*glowing.*[/green] This indicates that one of the chips is drawn *after* the other. This is done because there are some objectives that have to do specifically with the last chip.1maintitlebar_content6550a2ed3523400slot5 3
Nekonyancer*Shoot!* A purple was drawn! Our "orange = purple" objective is unfortunately complete, [red]losing us 40 points.[/red] Our "2 of each kind" objective is complete, [green]scoring 42 points.[/green] Our "purple = green" objective is incomplete, scoring 0 points.1chip-25-front6550a303a873800
NekonyancerYou should be able to see a table with everyone's scores at the top of the screen. In a *2-*player game, the highest scorer gets a *medal.* [green]First to 3 medals wins![/green] With *3* or more players, the highest scorer gets 2 medals. The 2nd highest scorer gets 1. [green]First to 4 medals wins![/green]2result6550a303a873800result 1
NekonyancerBGA needs to know that you're done looking at the score table. *Click on [blue]"Seen!"[/blue]*1seen_button6550a315ed87d10seen_button 2
Nekonyancer*Okay!* Everything was reset for the second round, which will play out the same as the first. [green]Now you're ready to play![/green]1maintitlebar_content6550a31be7d7d00
Nekonyancer[blue]One last thing[/blue] - if you want to see a list of all the objectives in the game, along with detailed descriptions of each, click on the [red]*"?"*[/red] button in the bottom-left corner.2bga-help_buttons6550a31be7d7d00
Nekonyancer[blue]*Thank you for playing through this tutorial for Bag of Chips!*[/blue] If you have any questions or comments about the tutorial, feel free to send *Nekonyancer* a message! A big thank you goes out to *thoun* for bringing this game to BGA! Have fun! :D3maintitlebar_content6550a31be7d7d00
