They will then assign workers to various actions to develop technologies, build wonders, and earn points, all while keeping an eye on their military. NekonyancerLet's start by looking at the *Research* space. It says... *+ star* (referring to victory points) *Gain a blue diamond* (referring to technology) Below that, there are two action spaces. It indicates that each player *loses a worker* when the permanent action spaces reach it! And since we didn't get back the worker that we used on the *Conquest* action, we're down to one worker! NekonyancerRome's civilization card is now covering most of our old Mali card! NekonyancerLastly, there's [red]*resting.*[/red] Any player may choose to *rest* on their turn instead of taking any actions with their workers. If they do, they gain 2 gold and 1 worker. Nekonyancer[blue]*Variant 1: Special technologies*[/blue]---In this variant, a market of new technology columns is set up. On your turn, you may acquire one of the columns for $ 1, replacing a default tech column. This can only be done if you have not yet researched any of that column's technologies.
