Maybe a rematch on a game with the restriction applied will not result in the same behaviour, will update when I do that.

Agree that this is a *really* annoying one. The vast majority of my games are rematches with a small group of friends, all turn-based.
This setting for table restriction was not copied on rematch so no this didn't fix it unfortunately
