Dboned XrayWelcome to *Soulaween*!
*Soulaween* is the most bustling festival at Death School! Teachers and students compete in "reaping souls" to claim victory.

Dboned XrayThe first player to reap *three sets of souls* wins.
You reap one set of souls by creating *a chain of four* of the same coloured souls.
You can do this [blue]horizontally[/blue]...2square_1_1000square_1_1 2 square_2_1 2 square_3_1 2 square_4_1 2
Dboned XrayLet's try it out!
Click on [red]this spot[/red] to place a red soul on the board, and then choose "[blue]Confirm[/blue]" on top.5square_3_3010square_3_3 1
Dboned Xray*Players alternate turns.* This was your opponent's action.1chess_2_262d6c915d8a6000
Dboned XrayYou will notice that souls can be either [green]green (Tamed)[/green] or [red]red (Panic)[/red].
Click on this soul to change its colour to [green]green[/green], then click on the [red]marked spot[/red] to place it.
Remember to [blue]confirm[/blue] the move when done!2user_chesses_board62d6c915d8a6010user_chesses_board 3 square_2_3 1
Dboned Xray*Did you see that?*
Whenever you place a soul it will *flip* all [blue]adjacent souls[/blue] (vertically and horizontally, but not diagonally).1chess_3_362d6cb1420c0900square_1_3 2 chess_2_2 2 square_2_4 2 chess_3_3 2
Dboned XrayIt might be tempting to place the green soul here, thinking you will get three green souls in a row. But remember, the neighbours will *flip*.
[green]Place a green soul here to continue.[/green]1square_1_362d6cb8b35a6510square_1_3 3
Dboned XrayOh dear, our opponent made a mistake!
Can you see it?1chess_4_462d6cbf9589ab00
Dboned XrayPlace a green soul [green]at this spot[/green] to *flip* two green pieces and [red]reap a set of souls[/red].2square_4_362d6cbf9589ab10chess_1_1 1 chess_2_2 1 chess_3_3 1 square_4_3 3 chess_4_4 1
Dboned Xray*Congratulations!*
You are about to *reap* your first set of souls!1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62d6cd240e7b800chess_1_1 1 chess_2_2 1 chess_3_3 1 chess_4_4 1
Dboned Xray[green][tip] Why did the game end?[/green]
Don't worry, normally the game will continue, but I'm *abandoning* the game at this point for the sake of the *tutorial*.1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62d6d00b90ec600
Dboned XrayYou will notice that one of your *soul jar tokens* are active. This indicates that you scored [red]one set of souls[/red].2token_0_062d6d00b90ec600token_0_0 1
Dboned XrayHere you can track your progress. Remember, your goal is to score [red]three sets of souls[/red] before your opponent does the same.
For each set you reap you will get one of these tokens.3token_0_162d6d00b90ec600token_0_2 1 token_0_1 1 token_0_0 1
Dboned XrayYou can also see *your score* in your player card.4player_score_8651502962d6d00b90ec600
Dboned Xray[green][tip] What happens if the entire board gets filled with soul pieces without anyone scoring?[/green]
If this ever happens, the game will *remove* all the pieces of the *same colour* as the one that was just played and continue to the next round. This is called *cleanup*.6archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62d6d00b90ec600
Dboned XrayThis is all you need to know to start playing the game in *Simple Mode*.
[green][tip] Remember, the game flow is: *Put -> Flip -> Reap*.[/green]7archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62d6d00b90ec600
Dboned Xray[green][tip] At any time, if you forget the rules, just click on the *help* button for more information.[/green]
(You can do this now.)
You can hover over the sections to read more in the pop-ups. The *top half* applies to *Simple Mode*.8help_tape62d6d00b90ec600
Dboned XrayThe second mode, *Standard Mode*, is beyond the scope of this tutorial, but this mode will let each player take up a character, each with their own set of special rules. The *Teacher Vulture* picture (on the far right, by your reaped soul sets) will get replaced by your new character card.9archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62d6d00b90ec600
Dboned Xray[green][tip] Again, you can refer to the *help* menu on the left for more information.[/green]
The *bottom half* explains the characters used in *Standard Mode*.10help_tape62d6d00b90ec600
Dboned XrayThat's it!
Go have fun!
I suggest you play your first game in *Simple Mode* to get the hang of things before you move on to *Standard Mode*.11archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62d6d00b90ec600
