TorselliWelcome to *Regicide*! In this cooperative game, you must join forces to defeat 12 powerful enemies, monarchs whose hearts have been blackened by a sinister corruption.
It's a challenging game from 1-4 players played with a regular deck of cards. 1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment000
TorselliTo *win* the game you must defeat *all 12 enemies*.
If any player, anytime, cannot play or discard cards when they have to, *you all lose*.
2archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment000
TorselliThe Castle Deck shows how many enemies are remaining. It'll be in a stacked order: first the *4 Jacks*, then the *4 Queens* and finally the *4 Kings*. Suits are in random order. 3castle_deck000
TorselliHere is the first enemy - Jack of Hearts. To his left you have his *Health* - how much damage he must take to be defeated.
To his right his *Attack Power* - how many damage he deals to the player.1card_1262bfa9f4c5adc00
TorselliThe player turn happens in 4 steps:
1. Play card(s) (or yield).
2. Activate suit power.
3. Deal damage to enemy.
4. Suffer damage from enemy. 2archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62bfa9f4c5adc00
TorselliFirst card played was a *4 of Spades*.
The number always shows the amount of damage the enemy will take. The suits have different powers. 3card_4162bfa9f4c62e600
TorselliThe enemy took *4 points of damage*, and now his health is 16. 4health_number_262bfa9f4c62e600
Torselli*Spades* power shields against enemy - their attack power is reduced by the number of the spades card played. In this case, the *attack power* was reduced by *4*. 5castle_attack62bfa9f4c62e600
TorselliSince the enemy is not defeated yet, he attacks the current player, who suffers the damage (will be explained later).6pagemaintitletext62bfa9f4c62e600
TorselliNow it's our turn. Before playing our first card, you should notice that some cards have an exclamation mark *!* on them. 1myhand_item_3062bfa9fc1622f00myhand_item_27 6 myhand_item_30 6
TorselliThis means that the current enemy is *immune* to the *suit powers* of these cards, because they share *the same suit*. In this case, since our enemy is the [red]*Jack of Hearts*[/red], all the [red]*hearts*[/red] cards' powers will be canceled. 2card_1262bfa9fc1622f00card_12 6 myhand_item_27 6 myhand_item_30 6
TorselliLet's play our first card. We have the *6 of spades*. Besides dealing 6 damage, it will *reduce his attack to zero*, and we won't suffer any damage!3myhand_item_2162bfa9fc1622f10myhand_item_21 6
TorselliLet's finish this enemy by playing the [red]*8 of diamonds*[/red]. It will deal 8 damage points and activate the *[red]diamonds[/red]* power: draw cards. All the players will draw cards up to their hand size, limited by the number of the diamonds card. 1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62bfaa25d3cf300myhand_item_48 6
TorselliThe hand size is 7 cards in 2 players, 6 in 3 and 5 in 4 players. Here you can see how many cards each player has.
!!! When playing solo, hand size is 8 cards.
2data_table_wrap62bfaa25d3cf300
TorselliCards will be drawn from the *Tavern Deck* - here you can see how many cards there are in the deck.
*Draw Capacity* shows the combined number of cards that the players can draw when the next *[red]diamond card[/red]* is played.3tavern_deck62bfaa25d3cf300
TorselliPlay the *[red]8 of diamonds[/red]*.4myhand_item_4862bfaa25d3cf310myhand_item_48 1
TorselliLet's check what happened:
First, the players drew cards, refilling their hands, due to *[red]diamond suit[/red]* power.1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62bfaa4f6505b00data_table_wrap 6
TorselliThen, we defeated *[red]Jack of Hearts[/red]*. All the cards played, *including the defeated enemy*, were moved to the discard deck. Defeated enemies will become usable player cards later in the game.2discard_pile62bfaa4f6505b00discard_pile 6
TorselliA new enemy was drawn from the *Castle Deck* - the *Jack of Clubs*.3castle_deck62bfaa4f6505b00
TorselliAll cards of the same rank will have the same *Health* and *Attack Power* - all Jacks have 20 health and 10 attack.4current_castle_wrap62bfaa4f6505b00
TorselliHere you see what enemies you've already defeated and what are upcoming.7defeated_enemies62bfaa4f6505b00
TorselliThe player who defeated the enemy plays again.8archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62bfaa4f6505b00
TorselliWe played the 2 of spades, reducing both health and attack by 2. Since the enemy is not defeated and his atttack is greater than zero, *we will suffer damage*.1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62bfaa77407cb00
TorselliThe amount of damage suffered is the same number as the enemy's *attack power*.2pagemaintitletext62bfaa77407cb00
TorselliSuffering 8 damage means we have to *discard card(s) that adds up to at least 8*. 3archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62bfaa77407cb00
TorselliIf you don't have enough cards to discard up to the damage level, *the game is over and all players lose*.4archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62bfaa77407cb00
TorselliDiscard the [red]*8 of hearts*[/red].5myhand_item_2762bfaa77407cb10myhand_item_27 6
TorselliIf you think you don't have any good card to play, you can *yield*. When you yield, you skip playing cards but *suffer damage at the end of the turn*.1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62bfaa8e8efe900
TorselliAll players can not *yield* the same round. In a 3-player game, for example, if 2 players yield in a sequence, the third player *must* play.2archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62bfaa8e8efe900
TorselliClick on *yield* to continue. Since the enemy attack is 0, we will skip playing cards and suffer no damage.3archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62bfaa8e8efe910
TorselliIf you deal damage *exactly equal* to the enemy remaining health, the enemy *will be placed on top of the Tavern Deck* instead of going to the discard pile.
This means that it'll be the next card to be drawn.1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62bfaac46f6f700
TorselliSince the Health is 5 and we have a 5, let's do it! Play the *5 of Spades*.2myhand_item_3662bfaac46f6f710myhand_item_36 6
Torselli*Clubs* power *doubles the value* of player's attack power. Play the *9 of Clubs* and you'll see that the enemy will be damaged by *18*.1myhand_item_2262bfaae54713310myhand_item_22 6
TorselliWhen the last Jack is defeated, the *Queens* arise! They have *30* Health and *15* Attack Power.1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62bfab2eb2b4100
TorselliThe last suit power - *[red]hearts[/red]* - brings cards from the discard pile back to the *Tavern Deck*. It shuffles the discard pile, takes cards up to the number of the *[red]hearts[/red]* card played and puts on the bottom of the Tavern Deck.1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62bfab689681e00
TorselliThe *Aces* are *animal companions* and can be played together with other cards. When you do that, it adds *1* to the other card number and *both suit powers are executed* up to the value of the combined cards.2archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62bfab689681e00
TorselliIf you play an ace with another card of the *same suit*, the suit power will be executed *only once*. 3archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62bfab689681e00
TorselliPlay *[red]5 of Hearts[/red]* and *[red]Ace of Diamonds[/red]* together.
It will bring back up to 6 cards from the discard pile to the Tavern Deck ([red]hearts power[/red]) and draw up to 6 cards to the players ([red]diamonds power[/red]).
!!! When [red]hearts[/red] and [red]diamonds[/red] are played together, hearts will be always executed before diamonds. 4myhand_item_3062bfab689681e10myhand_item_30 6 myhand_item_35 6
TorselliBesides aces as the animal companions, there is another way of playing more than one card at once: the *Combos*.1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62bfabca0ff1600
TorselliA *Combo* consists of *same numbered* cards played together *as long as they sum up to 10*.2archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62bfabca0ff1600
TorselliThe possible combos are:
- Pair of 2s, 3s, 4s, and 5s.
- Triplets of 2s, and 3s
- Quadruplets of 2s.
!!! Animal Companions cannot be added to a combo or played as a combo on their own (except a pair).3archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62bfabca0ff1600
TorselliWhen you play a combo, *all the suit powers* will be executed up to *the sum of the cards*.4archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62bfabca0ff1600
TorselliPlay a *triplet of 2s*.
The total power will be 6:
- 6 cards will be placed from the discard pile to the bottom of the Tavern Deck (*[red]hearts power[/red]*);
- 6 cards will be drawn to the players (*[red]diamonds power[/red]*)
- Enemy will receive 12 damage (*clubs power*)
5archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62bfabca0ff1610myhand_item_44 6 myhand_item_37 6 myhand_item_42 6
TorselliIn the course of the game, you'll eventually draw the defeated enemies. They can be used as a regular card, both in attack (executing the suit power) or when discarding to suffer damage. 1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62bfac600f51600
TorselliTheir values are their former attack values:
*Jacks* count as 10, *Queens* as 15 and *Kings* as 20. 2archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62bfac600f51600
TorselliPlay the *Jack of Spades*. The [red]Queen of Diamonds[/red] will suffer 10 damage and her attack will be reduced by 10 (*spades power*)3myhand_item_1162bfac600f51610myhand_item_11 6
TorselliThe last queen was defeated, and here come the *Kings*! They are the most powerful (and final) enemies, with 40 Health and 20 Attack Power.1archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62bfac81155f600
TorselliIf you defeat the last King, *the game ends and you win*!2archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62bfac81155f600
TorselliThat was it - hope you enjoyed this Tutorial. Some extra information before ending.3archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62bfac81155f600
TorselliIn 3 and 4 players games there is an additional card - *The Jester*. It is played alone, and its value is zero. When you play, *the enemy loses his immunity* for his own suit. In addition, you *do not suffer damage* this turn and *choose the next player* to play.
One Jester card will be added to a 3 players game and two Jester cards will be added to a 4 players game.4archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62bfac81155f600
TorselliWhen *creating a game table*, it is possible to customize some difficulty options such as changing hand size, boosting enemies attack/health, and many others.
[tip] I *do not* suggest changing the difficulty on your first games since the standard game is already hard enough to beat. 6archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62bfac81155f600
TorselliAbout player communication: the player *may not* communicate about cards they have in their hands, about what they can do with their cards or about what they expect other players to do on their turns.7archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62bfac81155f600
TorselliThey *may* communicate/remind about public information: how many cards they have in hand, how many cards there are in the Tavern Deck.
They also may communicate their wish to be the next player when a *Jester* is played. Some buttons will appear that allow players to communicate if they have a good/average hand.8archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment62bfac81155f600
TorselliIn *Solo Mode*, you play with a single hand
limited to 8 cards and the Jesters set aside.
The Jesters may be used to discard your full hand and draw 8 new cards. This can be done in the beginning of your turn or when you're about to suffer damage. Since you have two Jesters, you can do this twice through the whole game.
!!! *The Jesters are not used to cancel immunity in the solo game*.

TorselliGo give *Regicide* a chance - you'll probably enjoy it!
