HockeyCeresWelcome to *On Tour*! On Tour is a *roll-and-write game* for 1-8 players published by *AllPlay* (formerly BoardGameTables.com). Its original edition featured a USA map, then an expansion added an European Tour option. *Both are included here on BGA*, but for this tutorial, we'll use the base, USA map.1card_1000
HockeyCeresYou’re living the dream! You are in a band and about to go on tour! It’s your job to schedule the band’s stops over the 100-day tour, *visiting as many states as possible*.3card_1000
HockeyCeresYour map is divided into *5* regions: North & South / East, Central, & West. The 5 regions combine to form 6 individual areas: Northwest, North-Central, Northeast, Southwest, South-Central, and Southeast. Each state resides in the intersection of two regions. HockeyCeresAt each turn, you'll select a state and mark it on your map according to two rules: 1. *The dice*. Each of the two ten-face dice will obviously produce a digit. You then use these digits to form the two final numbers. In this example, 1 and 2 will form 12 and 21, respectively. HockeyCeres2. *The cards*. Cards display a region and a state. Each round, the rolling (active) player draws 3 cards and reveals them for all players. Then, all players *simultaneously* write each of the numbers in two *empty* states on their board.6card_0000card_0 1 card_1 1 card_2 1

HockeyCeresYou got it right. In *one of the states in one of the regions* specified by the cards. But wait. Why do we already have some states with numbers? In the *setup phase*, one after another, *four cards* are revealed and dice rolled, and the players write the number on the *same* revealed state. As you can see, we have 19, 68, 86, and 91. These numbers will sit there for the remainder of the game. HockeyCeresSo, now, we have to finally write down these two numbers. The thing is to write them in a way that will be good for the *final scoring*: When all states are filled, the game ends. Beginning in *any* state, each player will draw a continuous route for their tour. The line must continue to any adjacent state with a number *equal to or greater* than the previous state.10card_1000
HockeyCeres[tip][blue] That is, a good *rule of thumb* is to write "extreme" numbers (very high or very low) close to the edges of the map, so that they can be used either as start or end point of your tour.[/blue] Naturally, this isn't always easy and it's what makes the game interesting. HockeyCeresI wish we could have an interactive tutorial, but it looks like it won't work. So now I'll use the [red]*12*[/red] and the [green]*Kentucky (KY)*[/green] in the Southeast region for you in this turn. Why there? HockeyCeresNow it's your opponent's turn, who will do just the same thing as the cards and dice are shared between all the players at the table. Remember that in the game, this happens *simultaneously*.1card_164ec6254e2e2e00

HockeyCeresIn the next turn, let's put these numbers at a good use again. I'll write down the [red]36 in Louisiana (LA)[/red] and the [red]63 in Arizona (AZ)[/red]. HockeyCeresLook at the map. The *63* is circled. This means that I wrote down a number in a state actually *featured in one of the cards* (you can check looking at the middle card above). !!! HockeyCeresWhile our opponent completes their turn, I'll explain you the last rule. If all three cards display the same region (rare) OR if *doubles are rolled* (the usual case), each player draws one star in *any one empty state* on their board *instead of writing numbers*. The state must be in the same region as shown on the card. *You may still circle the star* if you use an exact state from a card.1card_164ec62747d02b00
HockeyCeresThat's all. When only one or two empty states remain, do not flip cards. Instead, roll dice. Players may freely write numbers in any remaining states, following the usual rules. *Stars can be added* too in this phase. HockeyCeresBeginning in any state, draw a continuous route for your tour. The line must continue to any adjacent state with a number *equal to or greater* than the previous state. Stars are wild and count as any number. You can never return to a state that you have already visited. !!!
