NekonyancerIn *Great Western Trail: El Paso,* players will move their herders along a circular trail, using buildings and carefully managing their herd. When they reach El Paso, they'll want only their best cows on display! You'll need some capable staff: *cowboys* to improve your herd, *craftsmen* to build your own buildings, and *engineers* to operate the train. NekonyancerAt the beginning of the game, each player must select one [red]*objective tile.*[/red] If we satisfy a tile's condition at the end of the game, we'll score some extra points. There will always be three face up tiles to choose from. We can usually draw a random one from the stack if we don't like them, but not at the beginning of the game.3tile-54

NekonyancerNext, if we had more money, we could buy an additional worker for another 8📀, but it would have to be a different kind than the first. And again, buying a Wild would cost an additional 4. NekonyancerAs you probably guessed, buildings must be placed on empty spaces on the map. Nekonyancer*Excellent!* BGA placed a colored cube in the bottom-right corner of the building to show who owns it. If our opponent stops here, he'll only be able to trigger a single auxiliary action. We are the only ones who can trigger its unique actions.1tile-50-front

Nekonyancer[blue]Well, we don't have to![/blue] When using the action, we don't always have to place a building on an empty space. We can replace one of your *previously placed buildings.* If we do, we only have to pay the *difference* between them, both in builders and in📀. This allows you to - over the course of several actions - construct very powerful buildings with just a few builders.4maintitlebar_content

Nekonyancer*Great!* We should try to eliminate as many Criollos as we can to make room for more valuable cows. Next, BGA automatically triggered the space's other action, which let's us move our herder *one additional space.*1tile-50-front

NekonyancerAfter moving, we can trigger actions at our herder's destination again. It's kind of like getting an extra turn! The next space happens to be the last space on the circuit: El Paso. *Move to [red]El Paso![/red]*2tile-61

NekonyancerIn this case, we don't have any duplicate cows in our hand, so every cow's value is counted. :) But if we had, say, a hand of four gray Criollos, our breeding value would be *1.*4card-34-front

NekonyancerWe can increase our breeding value by using any number of *certificates* we've saved up. In this case, I don't think we should use any. *Click on [red]"0,"[/red] then on [blue]"Confirm."[/blue]* This will lock in our breeding value at 5, at which point we'll *discard* our entire hand.5btn-0

NekonyancerNow that we've locked in our breeding value, we need to place a disk on a [red]*trading post,*[/red] all of which are in the middle of the main board. The number above each post shows the *minimum breeding value* we need to place a disk there. The icon below shows what bonus we'll receive!1player_name_11941354

NekonyancerFor example, if we had a breeding value of *9,* we could place a disk [red]*here*[/red] and hire a new worker. NekonyancerAlternatively, we could use one of [red]*these two disks*[/red] to unlock another auxiliary option. One of them grants a *certificate* when used. The other lets us permanently remove cows from our hand, just like the bonus tile we used earlier.7playerboard-11941354

NekonyancerHowever, if you look closely, you'll see that [red]*this disk*[/red] has an additional cost of 3📀. This cost only applies to moving the disk - the auxiliary action it unlocks will be free, just like the others.8meeple-5

NekonyancerThere are three more disks on the right side of our board, and each one unlocks a *very* powerful upgrade. [red]*This one*[/red] gives one permanent reusable certificate. [blue]*This one*[/blue] increases our hand size to 5. [green]*This one*[/green] increases our herder's maximum movement to 4.9playerboard-11941354
