NekonyancerIn *Beyond,* players will take turns drawing Celestial Spirit cards from a deck. If they draw the right cards, they can form sets to Enchant a Spirit and score points! The game will usually end after one player enchants their third spirit. [green]Whoever has the most points wins![/green]2maintitlebar_content

Nekonyancer[blue]Each player's turn is made up of 3 phases:[/blue] • Reveal and collect cards. • Add cards to play area. • Capture and Enchant. BGA chose us as the first player, so let's get started!3maintitlebar_content

Nekonyancer[blue]*Phase 1: Reveal and Collect*[/blue]---In this phase, we must *reveal* cards from [red]*this deck*[/red] until we decide to stop. When we do, we'll *collect* all the cards we revealed! However, if we reveal two cards of the *same color,* we'll only collect the *last* card we revealed!4byd-card-byd-card-byd-common-deck-fake-top-card-back

NekonyancerAs you can see, BGA already drew our first card for us, and it turned out to be green. *Click on [blue]"Draw card"[/blue] to draw our second!*5generalactions

NekonyancerWe drew a yellow card! Cards come in five colors - green, yellow, orange, purple, and blue - so if we choose to draw a third card, we have a *40% chance* of getting two cards of the same color. Hmm... I like those odds. *Draw another card!*1byd-card-85-front

NekonyancerThat's it for the Reveal/Collect phase! [blue]*Phase 2: Add cards to play area.*[/blue]---Go ahead and select the [green]*Green*[/green] card. Nekonyancer*Great!* We have our first green card. If we can complete a set of 4 green cards, we'll gain 9 points! NekonyancerIf you study the picture and ignore the yin-yang symbols, you'll see that there are two different types of green cards. NekonyancerNext, let's start our set of yellow cards! *Select the yellow card.* When a new 2x2 grid appears, *click on the top-left corner!*3maintitlebar_content

NekonyancerFinally, let's start a set of blues. *Select the [blue]blue[/blue] card.* When a new grid appears, *click on the top-left space.*2maintitlebar_content

NekonyancerLet's do something different with the orange card. Remember, the game will end when one player finishes their *third* set, and we already have a good start on green, yellow, and blue sets. We can only capture a *Yin* card with *Yang,* and a *Yang* card with *Yin.* In addition, we can't capture a card in a *completed* set.2maintitlebar_content

NekonyancerThat was a great move, but we shouldn't steal too much. Each time someone steals a card, the targeted player gets a [red]*Lotus Token*[/red] from the supply in compensation!2byd-tokens-action-img-92143487

NekonyancerNext, I want to show you what happens when the *first two* cards a player draws are the same color. [blue]I'll fast-forward a bit...[/blue]3player_name_11941354

NekonyancerHere we are! The first two cards we drew were the same color. Whenever this happens, we must take a *Nian Shou* card. There are 6 Nian Shou unique cards in the supply. *Click on the top-left card to take it!*1byd-card-28-front

Nekonyancer*Nian Shou* is the hardest Spirit of all to enchant! We'll need all six cards to complete it, and each one is unique, so if our opponent acquires one, we'll have to steal it! Stealing a Nian Shou cards requires *two* cards: one *yin* and one *yang!*1byd-nian-shou-11941354

NekonyancerIt takes a lot of resources and probably won't happen often, but if a player manages to complete the set and Enchant Nian Shou, they will win the game *instantly!*2byd-nian-shou-11941354

Nekonyancer[blue]In most games though, the end will be triggered when...[/blue] • One player Enchants their *third* Celestial Spirit. • Players have gone through the deck of cards *twice* (the discard pile will be shuffled after the first time). Nekonyancer[blue]Each player's final score includes...[/blue] • points from their enchanted Celestial Spirits. • +1 point per leftover card (including cards in incomplete sets, Nian Shou cards, and flipped capture cards). • +1 point per leftover Lotus Token. Whoever scores the most points wins! If there's a tie, the player with the fewest cards on their Spirit sides wins!4maintitlebar_content

NekonyancerOnce you have more experience with the game, you might consider toggling one (or both) of the *advanced modes* in the lobby options! *Protection Tokens:* Players can flip over Lotus tokens and place them on cards in incomplete sets to *protect* them. If a player wants to steal a protected card, they have to use *two* cards (1 yin and 1 yang)! Nian Shou cards cannot be protected.5maintitlebar_content

Nekonyancer*Summon an Enchanted Spirit:* players can place a Lotus Token on one of their Enchanted Spirits to summon it, triggering a special effect. Each Spirit has a different effect. This can only be done once per Spirit.6maintitlebar_content
