Detailed description
• Please copy/paste the error message you see on your screen, if applicable.
I enjoyed the game, but kept forgetting to hit confirm in the live game. I think after a turn is finished, players should automatically be done (giving them about 10 seconds to cancel)
• Please explain what you wanted to do, what you did and what happened
• Which browser are you using?

Report history
I'll repeat and reframe the arguments related to this below.
- 15 seconds to confirm your move has a very different meaning for someone with certain kinds of physical or intellectual disabilities, especially if they are not already very familiar with the game and BGA's interface. Creating a design that is accessible and welcoming is far more important to me than appeasing other players' feelings of impatience.
- When one is trying to learn a complex game, the unexpected appearance of a countdown timer makes the actual thought process of "confirming your move" much more stressful than it needs to be. In my experience when learning a new game, this has led me to panic and restart my turn when I wouldn't have otherwise.
- In real time games, BGA already has a timer pressuring players to end their turn. BGA does a much better job than other platforms of making it very clear that you are still expected to take an action. For the final confirmation step, when one might expect their turn to already be over, this expectation can be reinforced without additional timers by making the confirm button flash after several seconds, as is done in La Granja.
- I am sympathetic to the argument about wanting to have a chance to undo and not wanting to click another button, but considering the arguments above, I do not consider a timer an effective compromise. Almost every decision in the game is finalized with a button in the action bar at the top of the interface, so the optional added effort clicking a button at this same location after a sequence of decisions is relatively small. If you do not want to click the button, the user preference to skip this step is available and recommended.
Additional arguments below address design problems with the timer that are usually not taken into account when it is implemented.
- Default Option: Despite all of the above, I could be convinced to add a timer as a non-default option, but I will not force it on other players. Most people do not change default settings, and most people will not speak up if a design decision is causing their experience to suffer. This could be for a variety of reasons that I wouldn't fault anybody for, but it is the responsibility of the designer to proactively consider this fact and to make the default option the one that affords the greatest accessibility and ease of use.
- Turn-Based: Because these timers are handled entirely on the client side JS, if one simply closes out of the page once a timer starts, the game will stay in the confirm state at the end of the turn. This defeats the purpose in turn-based games, as someone who forgets to press the final confirm button would be just as likely to leave the page when it is counting down.
- Training Mode: An end of turn timer can be very disruptive in instances where one is using training mode or no time limit to teach and learn new games in order to freely ask questions or give explanations.
Possibly an option to remove the confirmation could be another way to approach it? I don't know how even after playing this so many times I still just don't see that button. Maybe there are ways to increase visibility (larger and redder so it draws more attention or a pop up)?
Again huge fan and thanks for bringing this game to life!
