According to game log, I was paid twice, and I think the log is correct but it should only pay once.

Ranior thinks that both card plays will trigger, but both are only resolved in the end, where occs and imps are equal, so you get double the amount.
That can't work because Agricola doesn't have stacks and therefore every instance has to be resolved immediately, one by one.
