And how would an X-second countdown work for turn-based games?
A suggestion similar to yours was made and has been expanded upon here:
#62039: "A "don't have" button in trading"
Please add your comment and vote to this post.
In theory a player's hand is secret to an extent. Sure some things can be deduced by resources spent and watching what's rolled, but what the robber took is secret. By auto rejecting trades based on whether the trade could be accepted at all, it's possible to figure out what cards are in a player's hand.
- A player actively saying "please auto reject my trades" could be useful, but could also cause stigma to anyone that doesn't turn on the option.
- A timeout on a trade could be similarly useful, "if nobody responds after 6 hours just pass"
An auto-reject after x seconds or whatever will stop the idiots who use the trade session to run down opponents clocks to try and can kick them. It's happened to me and other people have mentioned it to.
