Report history
The dictionaries are based on the two most popular Scrabble dictionaries, for North American and British English (NWL and CWL, respectively). It appears that neither of these dictionaries contain the word PRESSABLE. While this word is in Merriam-Webster, and so could be considered a valid word, the line has to be drawn somewhere.
I, like you, probably would have considered PRESSABLE valid word, and been disappointed that it wasn't in the Scrabble dictionaries. However, these are the best dictionaries available, so, although they're not perfect, there's little I can do.
While the line must be drawn somewhere, it does seem a bit unfair to use the Scrabble dictionary as “printed,” which only includes words eight letters and under, when Letter Tycoon offers players ten playable letter tiles, plus patent effects which can increase word length (eg, duplicate a letter). The Scrabble dictionary itself recognizes the word length limitation and refers players to Merriam Webster for words in excess of eight letters (eg, pressable, which has nine letters)
If you have any suggestions for improvements to the dictionaries, I'm all ears. However, I've researched the question thoroughly and already made a few improvements to the dictionaries (e.g. adding CWL, and more recently adding another, smaller dictionary based on 12dicts, for specialized use).
