But then, once the word is guessed, all the time taken during your turn takes away from your timer at once - so if you took one minute, it goes to 1:30, but if you took five, it goes to -2:30.
You can see this here where a player's turn took 5:39 and their timer is at -3:07

This is really not needed as it's like a co-op game. We're just playing for fun.
We had a self imposed time-limit of 6 minutes, afterwards we would click the give up.
Reflexion time
function giveExtraTime( $player_id, $specific_time=null )
Give standard extra time to this player.
Standard extra time depends on the speed of the game (small with "slow" game option, bigger with other options).
You can also specify an exact time to add, in seconds, with the "specified_time" argument (rarely used).
There is a framework bug in multiplayer states where the clock is auto resynch at the end of the turn even if extra time were given during the turn. If you had looked more carefully during the gale, you would have seen that time is added at EVERY action to EVERYONE. But as soon as you change to a game state, bam, main active player is resynch and go to negative. This was confirmed by admins that had no intention to fix it atm.
Nice to know the framework is it's usual dependable self...
