4 players king of tokyo game between friends
boardgamearena.com/table?table=462094413
Upon looking at the ELO details for the player finishing second, I see:
Vous ne pouvez pas gagner d'ELO en cas de défaite en équipe
But king of tokyo is not a team game.
Now, you could say that the first player wins and everyone else lose but if you do so,
then all the players but the first should be considered as having a draw between them.
In this game, the 3rd and 4th players are losing ELO for having lost to the second player but the second player doesn't win ELO for having won against them...
This is very wrong.
Maybe something can be done at game level so as not to tag the defeat as a team defeat ?• Please explain what you wanted to do, what you did and what happened

Report history

And not the only one introduced by the recent changes if I understand correctly the situation with the "consecutive wins" thing.
Ah well, I hope they are aware of most of it even if the admins don't answer to the reports.
Is this set?
"'losers_not_ranked' => true,"
That causes the exhibited behaviour, according to the docs. en.doc.boardgamearena.com/Main_game_logic:_yourgamename.game.php#Only_%22winners%22_and_%22losers%22
(The explanatory text "You cannot win ELO from teammates on a loss" is very misleading...)
I think losers_not_ranked should be set to false, as losers are in fact ranked in this game (by tiebreaker order of elimination). Either that or Losers should not be ranked (set to zero, no tiebreaker).
Turns out that even if losers are actually not ranked, losers_not_ranked is wonky: boardgamearena.com/bug?id=115682
But! The situation gets even worse when the setting is set to true and yet losers ARE ranked (as they are in this game). So I'd still say it's a bug to have both.
So I think the best, and it so happens also the easiest fix, is to set this to false. The results will be ranked (tie-broken by score or order of elimination as they already are) and Elo will be calculated just as for any normal ranked-result game.

And this time it's just a win by killing everyone, no special card involved.
I have looked at ton of other non-team 4player games and, so far, I have only seen the problem in this game and in this game I saw it twice.
So, while the problem is likely in the framework, I'm pretty sure that some kind of setting or handling in King of Tokyo is triggering the bug. The coincidence is becoming a bit big for it not to be the case.
Give instead 1 point to everyone and 10 to the winner and it will be ok. (I hope)
I looked at a bunch of game from a player and the 2nd and 3rd players at the end never gain ELO.
boardgamearena.com/gamestats?player=92814398
I checked and I don't have that "team loss" problem in the following games (played at 3 to 6 players):
- stella dixit, Race for the Galaxy, Automobiles, Downforce, Terranova, Heat
In all of those games, I have seen 2nd placed player win some ELO and never seen a player get +0 ELO tagged as "team loss"
You probably know what might be different between this game and Heat so here is an example for Heat where 2nd player won some ELO
boardgamearena.com/table?table=475885410
- Either It should be set to false (that would make it function like all other ranked games. Say, Ticket to Ride)
- or all losers should have their scores set to 0 with no tiebreakers (that would make it function like Coup, where one winner takes all, always, and order of elimination does not matter)

- Another table ID / move ID
- Did F5 solve the problem?
- Did the problem appear several times? Every time? Randomly?
